Looking for it? I have always been interested in anything involving  home improvement, self improvement, I guess, improvement in general. I think it rubs off when you see a beautiful house that you know has been worked on. Nothing is easy, inspiration is a must. I found this blog called fresh homes. Here is a part of their mission statement.

"Our main mission here on Freshome is to inspire you, to give you ideas and make your home a better place to live."

That alone inspired me, time to get to work!

Staging

I can not stress the importance of having a well kept place wether selling or renting out. For renting out, at least keep the place clean. Hire a cleaning service to clean the property while your tenant is at work. Staging depersonalizes a property and makes it welcoming for potential buyers, for more info on staging, see below

This is for the landlords, take a look at this (.pdf), it is a 2 paged guide reminding us about one of ISD's (yes, the same guys with the permits) zoning regulations. How We Can Help with Global Warming

Ok, I am not the typical moon bat left wing extremist, and I would never try to be. But I saw the Al Gore movie about the affects of global warming (An Inconvenient Truth) a few weeks ago. I then thought about ways I could live a fuller, healthier, and greener (pun intended both ways) life. Fluorescent light bulbs do help a lot.  But I wanted to get deeper into this. I did a search and found a very useful site if you plan on buying, building or updating a new property. Greenhomeguide.com helps you with topics ranging from bamboo flooring, cork tiles, and countertops made from recycled wastepaper. And if your stuck, you can even ask a pro for advice. Safety is Important

This is for the tenants and buyers actually. I get a lot of questions like “how is the neighborhood?” Perfectly fine question and is definitely something you want to check up on before renting or buying anywhere. The reason I cannot answer is because of Real Estate Salesperson code. The Boston Police Department is divided into several districts; Jamaica Plain for example is E-13. You can find plenty of statistical information by visiting the web site, or you can give them a call. Many stations also host district community web sites like www.e13bpd.com. Enjoy!
